Bill Parlapiano III has been working as a faculty member and consultant for HVACReducation.net for some years, and he recently became the Dean of Green Collar Workforce Development & Education Programs. He is pleased to bring his experiences forward to address exciting environmental concerns in the trades.
He is a third generation trade professional, who grew up learning HVAC & Building Forensics. Bill holds several NATE Certifications, is a RSES Certificate Member (CM), and also holds a Certificate in Indoor Air Quality (CIAQ). His only time away from the industry was with the U.S. Army, flying aerial reconnaissance missions. In 2006, he founded BP Consulting: Innovative Solutions for a Changing World, a consulting firm focused on green collar workforce development and clean/green technology solutions. Prior to that, he was Chief Executive Officer for the Building Performance Institute, leading them in a successful national expansion with assistance from U.S. EPA, U.S. DOE, and U.S. HUD. Bill has also worked for New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and has worked in various positions as a mechanical contractor and consultant. He serves on Boards of Directors for Home Energy Magazine, ACI: Advancing Home Performance, and RSES: The HVACR Training Authority as Region 2 Director. He is also a former NATE board member and is active in more than a dozen industry associations, professional societies, and technical and standards committees.
Bill is looking forward to providing new and exciting opportunities for the building, remodeling, and trade industries to grow and prosper. This is especially important in these times where every dollar and every minute becomes more and more valuable. Online education can help make both time and money go a bit further. Bill says, “I truly believe green collar careers are an opportunity for us to strengthen our resolve, refocus on pride and quality, put millions of people to work, fix our nation’s growing energy and environmental problems, and pour our hard-earned money back into our local economies. Our new programs will be an instrument for that change for those who truly want to make a difference in the world. For me, it is worth working every day to make it happen.”
Chris Compton: Eleven years ago Chris Compton, a 16 year HVACR instructor at North Idaho College, was looking for a way to implement HVACR curriculum on the internet. He saw a unique opportunity to help anyone searching for a way to educate their workers to be successful in the ICE and NATE exams, or those needing re-training programs for a career change.
Chris has taken many courses on online learning. Currently, Chris is the Lead Faculty, Project Director, and Content Development Manager {as well as chief cook and bottle washer} of the online effort called HVACReducation.net.
Chris brings with him a total of 28 years of experience in the HVACR field. He is certified at the Installation and Service level in all five of the NATE certifications. In 1998 he was selected as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Trades and Industry Educators in the U.S. by ACTE (Association of Career and Technical Education), formerly AVA (American Vocational Association). He received the Imperial award from RSES for his CMS (Commercial Refrigeration) in 1997 and is a CMS member of RSES.
