With this nationally recognized innovative online Chartered Tax Professional Certificate Program, students can start working and earning money while completing coursework. After successfully completing the first two courses in the CTP® certificate program, you will be qualified to prepare individual tax returns for almost all U. S. taxpayers. You will learn to prepare returns for small business corporations and partnerships and more complex sole proprietorships. As a CTP® you will have the tax knowledge and experience to prepare for the IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) exam if you wish to add the coveted EA credential to your professional designation as a CTP®. This online certificate program is offered in partnership with major colleges, universities, and other accredited education providers.

Internship Opportunity!

The Chartered Tax Professional certificate program offers a unique opportunity for students to participate in an Internship Program with employers of tax professionals. Through the Internship Program selected students may work on a trial basis for Tax Preparation Firms, or for CPA and Law Firms that provide tax services. A student who applies for an internship may be matched with a firm if one has registered to participate in the student’s locality. Although internships are not guaranteed, hundreds of firms nationwide register each year to work with CTP® interns.

Students benefits:

1. Practical experience:
    a. Opportunity to apply tax course learning to internalize knowledge
    b. Hours earned help to satisfy the CTP® experience requirement
    c. Confidence gained in applying new skills as a tax professional

2. Career opportunity:
    a. Connection with a prospective employer
    b. Career growth path as tax professional

3. Earnings Potential:
    a. Paid internship possible
    b. Greater earnings potential as tax knowledge and experience increases

To qualify, students must have completed at least the first 30-hour course in the Chartered Tax Professional certificate program with a grade of 80% or higher. The intern may be paid a modest hourly wage (or unpaid if both parties agree) to work on a trial basis. If the Intern meets the employer’s criteria, he or she could then be hired and groomed as a “home-grown” tax professional. The apprentice tax preparer would ease the firm’s tax work load, while continuing to take advanced courses in the Chartered Tax Professional (CTP®) certificate program and realizing career growth.
